HOW DO WE USE AI?
At LarpVenture, we use AI tools, but we do so deliberately and in accordance with clearly defined principles. We treat AI as a support, not a replacement. People are responsible for the creative work involved in LARPs, but in certain areas, LLMs allow us to work faster and more efficiently.
In technical and organisational tasks, AI can genuinely lighten the team’s workload. This applies to non-artistic tasks, such as organising information, notes, internal documents, research and gathering knowledge during the preparation phase.
AI also acts as an assistant – an editor, a support, a ‘second pair of eyes’. It is the human who is responsible for the meaning, the idea and the objectives, whilst AI helps to process data into text in the appropriate form. We check every piece of material created with the support of artificial intelligence. This is how we work with, amongst other things, text translations and some marketing materials.
In the artistic realm of LARPs, there is a clear boundary: AI does not create content for us. It can assist with analysis, summarising ideas or checking consistency – but all final texts and elements of the game world are created by humans.
This applies to, amongst other things:
These guidelines are the result of the experience we have gathered over the past several months. During this time, teams have approached the use of AI in various ways – including some that we have now consciously decided to abandon. We regard this policy as our current working standard, which may continue to evolve alongside our experience and technological advancements.
